Dear D80 Division Governors,
Toastmasters International District 80 has been mourning the Loss of Division D Governor Chee Kim Loon's FATHER, who passed away peacefully on Thursday, 21st August 2008.
The WAKE is at Chinatown, Dickenson Hill Road Carpark, in front of Block 333 from Friday, 22nd until Sunday, 24th August 2008.
***The FUNERAL will be on Monday, 25th August 2008.
On behalf of Toastmasters International District 80 and myself, I hereby express OUR DEEPEST CONDOLENCES to Division D Governor Chee Kim Loon ATMB CL and Family for their GREAT LOSS.

Past District 80 Governor Poh Kim Siong DTM has been elected INTERNTIONAL DIRECTOR 2008 - 2010 representing Districts Not Assigned to Regions(DNAR); he received 6,747 out of the total - 11,369 eligible votes.

Dear D80 Division Governors,
(Center) D80 International Speech Champion - Arthur Ting
The D80 Top Three Officers and Members including 2007-2008 District 80 International Speech Champion -Arthur Ting- have been at the 77th Toastmasters International Annual Convention in Calgary, Canada.
The 2008 Inter-District Speech Contest B, in which Arthur Ting had participated, was launched on Thursday, 14th August 2008, and the RESULTS are as follows:
1st Place - Loghandran Krishnasamy (District 51)
2nd Place - Sammy Su (District 67)
3rd Place - Koka Prasad (District 79)
Our Special Thanks go to ARTHUR TING for having represented District 80 – Hong Kong, Macau, Singapore, and Thailand…Let’s together give him another THUNDER-STRIKING OVATION!!!
Past District 80 Governor Poh Kim Siong DTM with his Team has actively been canvassing for his candidature for INTERNTIONAL DIRECTOR. He has gracefully exposed himself as a Great Role Model – WE, at home, spiritually wish him a splendid bed of roses in the Toastmasters World!

Dear D80 Division Governors,
Have YOU submitted YOUR contribution for the First Issue of D80 Newsletter?
DPRO Melanie ACS has been working hard on compiling information for the first issue of 'GREAT CONNECTIONS', and anxiously expecting your contributions by 20th August 2008. Since there are only 10 more days to the Dead Line, I therefore post another REMINDER as a follow-up to ensure that all documents reach her on time so that she could efficiently create the best outlook.
As I have promised, this BLOG will be frequently updated with News, Events, and Messages of all D80 Divisions and, your contributions can tremendously make a great difference!
The Division T Team is now arranging the 2008-2009 Caravan Itineraries to cover the 5 regions across the country cruising from the north, north-east, central, east and south. The address of this BLOG will then be circulated as part of our mission; I therefore THANK YOU in advance for your helping hands in one way or another.

My responsibility is to collect a 2-page highlights of news, events, articles for the District 80 Newsletter from Divisions in Singapore and Thailand, and DPRO 1 Melanie Hoi ACS from Divisions in Hong Kong and Macau. Since DPRO 1 Melanie ACS has had asked all of YOU to provide all the news and information with photos to her, this is just a REMINDER that the Dead Line is August 20, 2008. I have just created a BLOG to liaze with all of YOU and will soon approach you for messages and articles which will be posted and circulated among members and guests particularly in District 80. As Division T Hon. Adviser, I shall also include the BLOG in the ‘2008-2009 Thailand Toastmasters Caravan’ to initiate the public into the Toastmasters World nation-wide. I need your help to make the process fruitful, and look forward to your kind assistance after I launch the BLOG by next week.
